The Underwater Visual Assay is a technique used in the detection of large and small discontinuities. Its purpose is to periodically monitor the general condition of submerged structures, aiming to increase safety, operational continuity and the preservation of this great heritage, in addition to also verifying the conditions of the structure in relation to the project. It is widely used in offshore platforms certification processes, providing subsidy to classification societies. The inspection techniques apply to all offshore oil exploration, production and off-shore systems.
