The SNSI Nitrox Diver course is an entry-level course for divers who wish to continue their diver studies and begin using nitrox or oxygen-enriched air as a breathing gas to extend no-decompression limits at depth.
This course is for:
- The open water diver who is interested in learning more about nitrox blends.
- The open water diver who is interested in extending their bottom time.
- The certified diver who is interested in furthering technical diving education.
Course prerequisites:
- Minimum age 18 years old or 15 years old with parental consent
- Minimum open water diver certification or taking an open water diver course
What you can expect to learn:
- The benefits, dangers, and proper procedures for using nitrox with a mixture of 22 percent oxygen content up to 40 percent.
- Equipment considerations, cylinder labeling, analysis of nitrox mixes, and gas mix procedures.
What's there for you?
- Ability to dive using EAN-22 to EAN-40 without direct supervision
- Ability to enroll in SNSI Advanced Nitrox courses, TDI Decompression Procedures, and the Semi-Closed or Enclosed Rebreather Courses.
Minimum SNSI Nitrox Diver requirements:
- Demonstrate understanding of PEA calculations.
- Perform oxygen analysis for nitrox mixtures.
- Satisfactorily complete the Nitrox SNSI course and written exam.
