Trimix Diver Course - SNSI
Trimix Diver Course - SNSI
Are you looking to expand your depth range? Do you want to reduce narcosis during deep dives? The Trimix SNSI Diver could be your next step! As your motivation to explore progresses, you'll find that you might want to dig deeper to dive a shipwreck that's part of history or a cave system you've read a lot about. One of the main limiting factors to going deeper is narcosis; Trimix Diver's SNSI Diver course shows you how to minimize the effects of narcosis by adding helium to compensate for the nitrogen in your breathing gas. During the Trimix Diver course your SNSI instructor will teach you how to plan and execute dives using as little as 18 percent oxygen and dives to a maximum depth of 60 meters / 200 feet with an adequate helium mix for the planned depth
This course is for:
- The certificate as Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures looking for:
- Extend your depth reach
- Reducing narcosis for all deep dives
- Advance your technical diving education
Course prerequisites:
- Minimum age of 18 years
- Minimum certification of SNSI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures or equivalent
- Proof of 100 logged dives
What you can expect to learn:
- Advanced dive decompression planning including:
- Gas planning based on equivalent narcotic depths, nitrogen and helium uptake and elimination, central nervous system limits and out, isobaric counter diffusion, volume requirements, etc.
- Decompression gas choices
- Tables vs. dive computers
- Emergency and contingency plans (equipment failure, omitted decompression, etc.)
- Decompression diving procedures
- equipment selection
- pre-dive checks and skills
- Stress analysis and mitigation
- Sequence of a decompression schedule
- gas change
- Staff awareness and communication
- SMB / lift bag launch
- proper trim, buoyancy and swimming techniques
- Management of multiple decompression cylinders / Stage
- Emergency procedures (equipment failures, catastrophic outgassing, omitted decompression, navigational errors, injured/unconscious diver, etc.)
- Equipment considerations, cylinder labeling, analyzing nitrox and trimix mixtures, and gas mixing procedures
What's there for you?
- Ability to conduct technical diving activities using custom Trimix mixes without direct supervision, provided:
- Diving activities are similar to those of training.
- The areas of activities approximate those of training.
- Environmental conditions approximate those of training.
- Ability to enroll in Advanced SNSI Wreck and Advanced SNSI Trimix courses.
Trimix SNSI Diver minimum requirements:
- Satisfactorily complete the TDI Trimix Diver written exam with a passing score of 80%, followed by 100% instructor grading.
- Complete all water requirements safely and efficiently.
- Demonstrate, sound judgment regarding mature dive planning and execution.
