Underwater Photography Course
Underwater Photography Course
Date: Start every week.
We set up a flexible schedule so you can complete this specialty in a weekend, including part of the pool and 2 dives in the sea under the supervision of Instructor Wagner Marítimo, specialist in Underwater Digital Photo.
Overview
The Underwater Digital Photography course is an introduction to this modality of digital photography divided into two parts (Level One and Level Two) and centered on modern "point-and-shoot" digital cameras.
This course helps student divers develop the knowledge, skills, and hands-on techniques needed to take great pictures with a digital camera on their first photography dive. It is a fundamentally materials-based course aimed at a very broad audience - snorkelers, Discover Scuba Diving participants, Open Water Diver students and certified divers. The course has been designed with those interested in the fundamentals of digital underwater photography in mind.
Level One of this course guides students through how to easily obtain good photographic results, even if they have never used a digital camera before. It is designed as an introduction to the skills and knowledge of this course. In Level One, students learn what equipment is needed to take great underwater photography, how to set up their underwater photography systems and basic underwater photography techniques, while diving in an environmentally sound manner.
Level One skill development is done in the pool. Once students successfully complete Level One, they can advance to Level Two to learn how to achieve even better results. Level Two develops what they need to know about file formats, resolution adjustments, how to make images lighter or darker, getting good color quality, photo composition, how to download photos to their computers, and making adjustments. to obtain photographs with the best possible results. Level Two training is open to certified snorkelers and divers. Level Two skill development is conducted in open water - for certified divers it is spread over two dives under the supervision of an instructor. Participants who successfully complete Level Two skill development qualify for the Underwater Digital Photography Specialty certification.
